Mines game apps, downloads and "earning" apps

You'll find out where the genuine Mines game runs, what the Google Play rules for Australia allow, and how to spot the download links and earning apps that aren't what they claim.

Where the real game runs

Mines is a browser game. Spribe's Mines runs inside a casino's lobby or in Spribe's own demo, on a phone as well as a computer, with nothing to install. The same goes for the Turbo Games studio's version, which runs a free demo in any browser. A casino might wrap its site in an app, but the Mines inside it is still the studio's browser game.

What Google Play allows in Australia

Google Play generally bans real-money gambling apps and makes exceptions country by country for licensed operators. For Australia, its list of allowed types is short:

"Sports betting (including daily fantasy sports where legal)" and "Lotteries".

Casino games aren't on it. So an app in the Australian Play store that offers Mines for real money isn't a licensed casino app, and a "Mines" app that is allowed there is a free game with no cash prizes.

"Earning apps" and "Mines game link" posts

Social media ads and chat groups push Mines apps that promise money for playing, often with a download link or a "game link" to a site you've never heard of. The pattern Scamwatch describes fits them closely: "Scammers create fake online pokies or casino-style games. You may have some early wins, but eventually, the scammers suspend your account and demand payments for fake fees or taxes."

The ACCC set up a taskforce on 8 July 2026 against what it calls scambling: fake platforms that "manipulate results, withhold 'winnings' and incentivise users into recruiting others". A referral bonus for bringing in friends is one of the clearest warning signs.

Four quick checks on any Mines app or link

  1. Who made the game? The genuine versions come from studios such as Spribe and Turbo Games. Turbo Games says outright: "There is no official Mines APK, predictor, signal bot or payout app — anything that claims to be one is not ours."
  2. Does it ask for your casino login or card? Close it.
  3. Does it pay you to recruit friends? That's how scambling platforms grow.
  4. Is there a Provably Fair menu with Round Details? A copy built to look like Mines usually has none. How to read one is on is it rigged?.

The simplest option

If you want to play Mines on your phone without money, the free grid on this site runs in your browser and installs nothing.

Questions people ask

Is there an official Mines game app?
Turbo Games states that there is no official Mines APK, predictor, signal bot or payout app, and Spribe offers its Mines through casino lobbies and a web demo. Casinos run the game in the browser.
Can a Mines app pay real money in Australia?
Not through Google Play. In Australia, Play allows real-money apps only for sports betting (including daily fantasy sports where legal) and lotteries.
Is a Mines "earning app" a scam?
If it promises cash for playing a grid game and isn't a licensed service, treat it as one. Scamwatch describes fake casino-style games that allow early wins, then suspend the account and demand fees.
Is it safe to download a Mines APK from a link?
No. An APK from a chat or a video description installs outside the store's checks, and "Mines" apps of this kind often ask for payment details or casino logins.
